K so i guess it’s time to ring the “everything this guy touches is bad ass” alarm or whatever the closest equivalent would be. I have yet to hear a dud from this guy. It seems that he embraces each of his remix projects as a new canvas. I played the Empire of the Sun track last night – farging epic.
K that’s it. That was grace, now here are the 320 tenderloins.
Want to give a shout out and a big Thank You to the Fake Make crew! Fake Make is a company that makes custom decals for you laptops and serato vinyl or any other 12″ for that matter. Schitz got the opp. to open up for DJ Fashen last month and there was a home boi there delivering customs to Fashen himself (who was super stoked upon receiving em!). After the Schitz set we were greeted with the same kindness and a week later Schitz Popinov labels arrived in the mail. Super stoked and we HIGHLY recommend gettin your paws on a few sets. Go peep the site for some samples already!!! Oh and PS…the quality of the decals is much higher than the shitty iPhone photo you see above….

one night in the glass box at Republic, Flava Flav booked the whole room on a night when i had a whole list of peeps comin down – DENIED!
Anyhoo….he comes up, gives props and we rock fists. He pretty much made my knuckles bleed with the HUGE rings he had on. (See picture) He proceeds to keep buggin me to play some PE, and smashing my knuckles. This track was the only jam i had that would keep it goin…so i played it 3 fuckin times lol. Flav was lovin it, singin along with himself, surrounded with big booty hos and security guards. fuck my guest list
A compact disc just flew across my desk on the wings of a flying baby sporting aviation goggles and a tiny cape, followed by two toy airplanes bouncing on angelic rainbows. Perhaps the lasting intoxicants in my system from last night still holding effect? I wish. Rather, the disc is called “Babies Dream Big” from New York recording artist Alan Wilkis. The record is solid from start to finish with no serious “stand out” track but rather one of those impressive and hard to find “start to finish” enjoyable listens. I do agree with the description given on Alan’s myspace page (quoted below) but also felt a little Erlend Oye, Chromeo’s ‘legs” keyboard stand, and dare I say Lenny’s guitar strings could be thrown into the “comparable” blender as well.
“BDB grew out of a genuine love for the pop music of the past: the syrupy vocals of Stevie Wonder, the smoothness of Hall & Oates, arena-sized Boston guitar solos, Kraftwerk electronics, and Beach Boys harmony. Alan set out to find his own voice by weaving these essential but seemingly disparate raw ingredients together into unique new forms.”

Friends can help each other. A true friend is someone who lets you have total freedom to be yourself – and especially to feel. Or, not feel. Whatever you happen to be feeling at the moment is fine with them. That’s what real love amounts to – letting a person be what he really is.
“People are afraid of themselves, of their own reality; their feelings most of all. People talk about how great love is, but that’s bullshit. Love hurts. Feelings are disturbing. People are taught that pain is evil and dangerous. How can they deal with love if they’re afraid to feel? Pain is meant to wake us up. People try to hide their pain. But they’re wrong. Pain is something to carry, like a radio. You feel your strength in the experience of pain. It’s all in how you carry it. That’s what matters. Pain is a feeling. Your feelings are a part of you. Your own reality. If you feel ashamed of them, and hide them, you’re letting society destroy your reality. You should stand up for your right to feel your pain.”
“That’s what real love amounts to- letting a person be what he really is. Most people love you for who you pretend to be. To keep their love, you keep pretending- performing. You get to love your pretence. It’s true, we’re locked in an image, an act-”
“The most important kind of freedom is to be what you really are. You trade in your reality for a role. You trade in your sense for an act. You give up your ability to feel, and in exchange, put on a mask. There can’t be any large-scale revolution until there’s a personal revolution, on and individual level. It’s got to happen inside first. You can take away a man’s political freedom and you won’t hurt him- unless you take away his freedom to feel. That can destroy him. That kind of freedom can’t be granted. Nobody can win it for you.”
“Have you ever been in love? Horrible isn’t it? It makes you so vulnerable. It opens your chest and it opens up your heart and it means that someone can get inside you and mess you up. You build up all these defenses, you build up a whole suit of armor, so that nothing can hurt you, then one stupid person, no different from any other stupid person, wanders into your stupid life…You give them a piece of you. They didn’t ask for it. They did something dumb one day, like kiss you or smile at you, and then your life isn’t your own anymore. Love takes hostages. It gets inside you. It eats you out and leaves you crying in the darkness, so simple a phrase like ‘maybe we should be just friends’ turns into a glass splinter working its way into your heart. It hurts. Not just in the imagination. Not just in the mind. It’s a soul-hurt, a real gets-inside-you-and-rips-you-apart pain. I hate love.”
