“What’s a genre?? All I have is a synthesizer and maladaptive daydreaming.”
Is there any genre that ignites the feeling of nostalgia more frequently than Drive??? There needs to be a discussion about this.
Hopefully everyone out there has a futuristic vision of hover boards and synth bands jamming in 50′s Esc diners, where everyone has Archie comic style haircuts. Those google glasses seem like they could bridge the gap from today to that in 2014 quite nicely… I how much of an impact Google Goggles will have on daily trends and styles. Can you image the accessories and fashions that will go along with those things (Random train of thought).?
You may have noticed a number of interview’s being posted on the site by Swagbot. Dude’s got his finger on the pulse if you will, in terms of what’s what and who’s good in the New Disco / Drive realm. Today we’re proud to present an all star interview w. Futurecop. Futurecop.
Futurecop (UK), are without fail one of the most consistently futuristic bad asses to be pumping synth laden future music. Really loving the pop star remixes on their Soundcloud. Anyone who can make Kelly Clarkson sound deep and dreamy is A++ in the book of Schitz.
What influenced that name? We get that question all the time; I think on our next album it will be lend a clearer idea of what it is. Lets just say I ‘think’ he is our friend and allows us to escape this world via making music.
It has definitely been a busy year for you guys with all the touring, the music videos and the release of “The Movie.” What would you say has been your highlight? We’ve been making music for sometime now. Earlier in our career I would have said touring and meeting people. But the highlight will always be having people / fans. We make and will always make music for ourselves from our emotions, when fans or people feel the same way it feels really good, like we are not the only ones. Hard to explain I think unless you’re an artist.
So far out of the spots you’ve hit on tour, what city has been most hype for Futurecop? Norway, Los Angeles and Paris.
I logged on one day and seen a Youtube video of Tiesto, playing your Young Blood Remix on his college invasion tour, what were some of the thoughts going through your mind when you saw that? It was surreal, I’m not a fan of Tiesto, at all, and growing up he was my enemy in the type of music I listened to, ha-ha! But somehow feel proud that we converted someone like Tiesto, to be into better music.
You were recently in the studio with Random Robot Army, working on some tunes, what was that experience like and when do you think we will be hearing it? It’s been an awesome experience; they were really fun to work with. The problem with the track is we have been working on our next album for more than a year. And it’s a different vibe from this track, so I’m not sure what to do. If you email us we will send it you free lol
I’ve heard you guys are working on a new album, what can you tell us about that? Firstly that its very personal, and we realize what Futurecop really is. The album will tell everyone what we actually feel and why we did nasa, Transformers and the other 80s tracks.
We got you on Soundcloud and twitter, are there any other places we should be following Futurecop!? Instagram and facebook/futurecop.universe – check out www.futurecop.co.uk
