“You may have heard Vancouver’s Kutcorners. Maybe not by name but certainly by sound. He’s been supplying bass lines and remixes for the likes of U-Tern, DJ Eleven, DJ Ayres, The Kickdrums, and Keys N Krates for the last few years as well as touring with Canada’s The Freshest DJ crew. Originally from New Zealand, he’s half man, half amazin’, half kiwi and half Canadian.

“Diamond”, his first solo release, is an absolutely irresistible track that explores the best 80s New Wave and Boogie and features the vocals of Curtis Santiago. Kutcorners channels the sounds of Luther Vandross, Nu Shooz, and Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, all the while adding a crisp production twist that’ll keep modern dancefloors bumping. For fans of Onra & Dam-Funk, “Diamond” and “Aviator”, the flip side, are modern boogie jams.

Additional remixes of “Diamond” included in this release come from an incredible array of producers: PPP/The Bling 47 Group’s Waajeed, San Francisco’s J-Boogie (OM Records), Kutcorner’s Canadian brothers Audience, DJ DRM (Bastard Jazz), and New Zealand’s She’s So Rad. Plus, it also has more illmatic art by the one & only Kalani Fujimori.”
