Hello Poppers

First off, allow me to thank Schitz Popinov for being the fuckin man that he is. After a few months of online interaction, I was able to meet the man, the myth, the legend himself in Vegas prior to his rendezvous with the high desert dust at Burningman. I am extremely humbled and honored to be wriiting for all y’all Schitheadz. My name is DJ THC Electra and I enjoy all types of music, but lately I’ve been most into Nu Disco Electro Funky Shit, Sick Beats with Vocals and Sexy Choruses. Basically music for rooftop/poolside parties, and hotel rooms. A big hello to everyone from Exxxplosivo.com

The first track I’d like to talk about is Senor Stereo’s “Hot Damn”. This tune comes in hot and doesn’t let go. Señor Stereo is: Joe Masurka (aka Joe Maz), Danny Gomez (aka Danny Daze), and Matt Masurka (aka Gigamesh). Not sure which artist contributes the lyrics/vocals – but they are certainly fresh. After the chorus which calls out to everyone within earshot, “Shake, Hot Damn!, Get Off Your Ass & Jam!” the vocals drop with

“It’s my nighttime party, here we go (here we go).
I’m pushing my weight down to the floor (to the floor).
Dance to the hypnotic sound, foxy ladies gettin’ down,
I just left my worries at the door (at the door).”

Sick.

The second track I’m featuring is also a vocal gem, and although it came out in April 2008, I feel it’s not as widely known as it should be. Grovesnor is the brainchild of Rob Smoughton, drummer for Hot Chip – a band with some impressive wordplay over fresh beats throughout the years. The lyrics to the Grovesnor song “Drive Your Car” are completely powerhouse, but what’s most impressive is the vocal delivery in time over this eclectic electro beat. There’s plenty of sold remixes out there, but the original holds some serious weight.

Grovesnor – Drive Your Carpopped bySchitz Popinov √

I haven’t found the full lyrics online, so here’s my best guess:

“Leopard skin with tiger? eyes
With a roof down on thunder skies
At a loss for the weekend
on the way home
Clouds above and drains below
People dancing toe to toe
talking in circles
on the way home

VIP’s and premieres
debutantes and shipping heirs
they would entertain you
on the way home

I would drive your car home every night
Just to feel the open road
Just to feel it
But I miss you
And I (?) could’ve (?) get it right
My love
I would drive your car home every night
Just to feel the open road
Just to feel you
But I miss you
And I couldn’t get it right
My love,
I’m sure I could be what you’re dreaming of

And the second verse gets even more tongue twisted:

Leopard skin with tiger? eyes
The former skies could dry your eyes
And baby they will entertain you to get you on your own

You’ve got to make sure to watch for laissez-fair sommeliers
And those hoteliers with satin stares ?(stairs)?
And baby they will entertain you to get you on your own
You’ve got to make sure you’re holding on

I would drive your car home every night
Just to feel the open road
Just to feel it
But I miss you
And I (?) could’ve (?) get it right
My love
I would drive your car home every night”

“VIP’s & Shipping heirs, debutantes and premieres”
-Are you kidding me?
- Then dropping

“You’ve got to make sure to watch for laissez-fair sommeliers and those hoteliers with satin stares”

That is some high-level lyricism right there. Plenty more of that on both of the Grovesnor albums, check out “Dan” for a 2010 spin on the vibe/idea behind Rick Springfield’s “Jessie’s Girl”

For those Sexy Beast fans – “you’re staying at the Grovesnor”

Stay fresh.

Ok so here in Canada we pride ourselves on being distinct from our neighbours (notice the “u”) to the south. I felt that way until my recent trip to Alberta. There I found a province so eerily “American” that I had to rethink my whole concept of distinctiveness. I was drawn over there because of some awesome things I have heard about the party scene. Some tremendous talent has been coming out of that province for ages. Smalltown DJs create some of the dopest mixtapes and are known for rocking parties from coast to coast. The club scene is hot too with places like the Hifi Club and Habitat pushing boundaries and moving Calgary away from the two-step capital of Canada.

That being said, that province is still full of seriously American Canadians. Pickup trucks on steroids, Stetsons, Wranglers, and cowboy boots dominate the landscape. You will be judged on the size of your belt buckle!. There is also a huge death metal and breaks / drum & bass scene there, Albertan’s make up a huge percentage of the flailing hippies at Shambhala (which just happens to be taking place this weekend).

Lady Gaga, The Illuminati Puppet

The symbolism surrounding Lady Gaga is so blatant that one might wonder if it’s all a sick joke. Illuminati symbolism is becoming so clear that analyses like this one becomes a simple exercise of pointing out the obvious. Her whole persona (whether its an act or not) is a tribute to mind control, where being vacuous, incoherent and absent minded becomes a fashionable thing.

Gaga is a term that immediately refers to absent mindedness. Here are some synonyms taken from a thesaurus:

Given to lighthearted silliness: empty-headed, featherbrained, flighty, frivolous, frothy, giddy, harebrained, lighthearted, scatterbrained, silly. Slang birdbrained, dizzy.
Afflicted with or exhibiting irrationality and mental unsoundness: brainsick, crazy, daft, demented, disordered, distraught, dotty, insane, lunatic, mad, maniac, maniacal, mentally ill, moonstruck, off, touched, unbalanced, unsound, wrong.
“Gaga” is probably the easiest word to say in the English language, as it is often the first sound emitted by babies trying to imitate speech. So her name basically says: I’m a lady and I’m empty-headed. This empty head can filled with any crap you want. Imitate me young people. This state of mind is achieved after successful mind control.

Lately, I have been obsessively listening to Coast to Coast AM – George Noory is basically the man-about-the-universe and if you want to know all about legit Alien encounters, Extra Terrestrial humanoid wisdom, predictions for 2010, the who’s who of Reptilian politics and all that other awesome weird shit, I suggest you tune in or buy the app for your iphone – Talk Radio – and fall asleep to paranormal lullabies.

What’s interesting about Coast to Coast is I find it to be quite un biased – the type of programming you would never expect to hear on a REPUBLICAN radio station?! Weird right?

Alien Radio, as my lover calls it, keeps me SANE by reminding me that I’m not the only one who knows and understands most of what they discuss on the 4 hours of radio gold that streams through my lil iphone every night on the pillow next to my ear. I’ve learned more about my Ancestors -

Some weird shit about Reptilians, whether you believe it or not, it’s pretty damn interesting.

trust me Schitz – ALIEN. RADIO.

Enjoy.

Canucks on the rise…

November 9th, 2009 | Posted in Art, Blog, Music, People, Schitz Heads | No Comments

Canadian girls are a lot more than what you may first call to mind.  There is a 75% chance that when you think of a “Girl from Canada” one of the following will show up in your mind’s eye:

canadian in bikini

eskimo

Feist<3Hollywood – my!gay!husband!

walkmen-canadian-girl

hockey

hunterSPIKE!

But there is a lot more to the girls of Canada than the ones mentioned above.. Oh and you could have also been thinking of everybody’s favorite French Canadian, Celine D.. but this entry schitheadz is about where Canadian girls really shine… as indie actresses – and I’m not talking about the Zoe Deschanel, Natalie Portman kind of indie scene.. I’m not even talking about the Ellen Paige kinda indie, cuz lets face it everyone, if you are getting paid a couple million to be in a movie, THAT AIN’T INDIE!!!  I’m talking LEGIT indie.. Film’s that are so indie,  you have to track em down at those little treasure theaters that only play these little indies I’m talking about.

Rawnald Gregory Erikson the Second (Strategy Mix) – Starfuckers

There is always a new Canadian girl on the scene,  One that seems to be on every young directors “wish list” – Usually this young director also has it in his mind that once he casts her, he can therefore date her.. which plays a large part in casting these days.  The cool thing about Canadian girls, is that they are usually pretty accessible.  Even when they’re famous, they remain classy with an air of approachability.  These girls are tough too.. and don’t mind getting their hands dirty and tgoing after roles that involve taking risks… be it:

a) Masturbating for the camera in an intimate scene as former Much Music VJ, Sook Yin Lee did  in 2006′s SHORTBUS

sook yinshortbus

b) Exploring Sexual “Taboos” like  Vancouver native, Carly Pope who seems to get cast as a Lesbian  pretty regularly, which naturally has made her quite popular with the ladies ;)   Her role as Shulamith in Itty Bitty Titty Commitee took some yeehaww for sure.  Furthermore, how do you tell your mom that you have been cast in a cool little Canadian indie called Young People Fucking? and no mom, it’s not a porno.

carly1 young_people_fucking_movie_poster

The next talented Canadian on the rise hails from Kelowna, British Columbia – She is strikingly gorgeous and ridiculously talented.  Her name is Lauren Glazier, and mark my words.. This girl is the next Canadian Indie star that might have the charm to surpass all the above in star power.  I’ve seen a few shorts she has starred in that had me wondering, “who is this girl, WHO is her agent and WHY isn’t she the new “it” girl?  We hope to be seeing more of her in 2010 and an insider told Scitzpopinov that Lauren is set to be cast a lead role in Canadian/Brazilian co-production, “Buffalo Roam” that is said to start shooting 2011.

lauren1 lauren2

So watch for her Schitheadz, and you will one day be like.. OH JodyschitzLA told us about her! When it’s TOO LATE to star her in your little Indie cuz she is too busy playing Anne Frank and Mother Theresa in films that win Oscars!!

Oh yeah and here’s some more chunes:

Shove It (Switch Edit) – Santogold

The Girl and The Robot (Fast Life edit) – Royksopp

Love ya Schitheadz -
