As promised here is the first electronic remix of the Etta James
by Doi-oing. A nice lo-fi excursion straight out of late 92 with a
long ambient kicker at the end. They brought this track back into
the minds of many artists who have put their own touches on it.

At the same time that the underground dance scene was flourishing
in North America grunge was taking over the mainstream and trashing
synth pop for the same reasons we were avoiding it- A lack of substance,
of soul, of overwhelming conformity. It is why snowboarding blew up.
We all needed something stronger for our souls to connect with so this
crossover is perfect to include in Revival because it spoke to so many
people in a way that they were unaware of until they heard it.

The flyer is indicative of the attitude and eventualities of going
the distance in such a hard all out fashion.

The toughest decision is how to finish the set out. Ultimately I chose
not to choose. To…

choose washing machines,
cars, compact disc players and electrical pin openers.
Choose good health, low cholesterol,
and dental insurance.
Choose fixed rate mortgage payments.
Choose a starter home.
Choose your friends.
Choose leisurewear and matching luggage.
Choose a three piece suite on hair purchase
in a range of fucking fabrics.
Choose DIY and wondering
who the fuck you are on a Sunday morning.
Choose sitting on that couch watching mind-numbing,
spirit crushing game shows,
stuffing fucking junk food into your mouth.
Choose rotting away at the end of it all,
pishing your last in a miserable home,
nothing more than an embarrassment to the selfish,
fucked up brats you spawned to replace yourself.
CHOOSE YOUR FUTURE.
CHOOSE LIFE. CHOOSE THIS BLOG
